Third in a four-week series on the Sukhavati Sutras with Ratnaguna, given at Triratna Night on 16th February 2015 at Manchester Buddhist Centre

For the past year Ratnaguna has been writing a book about the three Pure Land Sutras – the texts that describe the myth of Amitabha and his Pure Land Sukhavati, or the Land of Bliss.

In this talk he asks what the myth of Sukhavati actually means, and proposes an answer – the living of the spiritual life is natural and results in what the eleventh century Pure Land teacher Shinran called jinen – naturalness.
