Mahabodhi explores the meaning of the Sanskrit term samjna or sanna in Pali. Often translated as perception, but more accurately apperception, it performs a pivotal role in meditation practice. By bringing mindfulness to our samjna in the Metta Bhavana, the mindfulness of breathing and in insight practice, we effect the required transformation of our view. Mahabodhi also covers the dhyanas, views in general, right view and unenlightened tendencies called asravas.

Talk given at Triratna Night, 20th November 2017.
