Our famous fundraising Skills Auction is on 17th November at 6pm. Turn up and make your bid on the day or mail it in advance to Sal at sal@manchesterbuddhistcentre.org.uk


  • Lot 1 – One-hour massage treatment with the super popular Kate Engineer from Bodywise
  • Lot 2 – Afternoon’s gardening from Sam Lloyd. Sam can offer digging, planting, watering, mowing, weeding, harvesting and removing of small trees. He can provide the tools as well
  • Lot 3 – Moksavadini from Buddhist Goodies will create a bespoke mala to your individual design, up to a value of £40
  • Lot 4Acupuncture session with Anne-Marie Gill from Bodywise. One hour and fifteen minute session of Traditional Chinese Medicine, assessing patterns of disharmony in the body, and re-balancing energy
  • Lot 5Pair of tickets for Gypsy at Royal Exchange Theatre, between 6th and 13th December and excluding Saturday and matinées. Wild and magnificent celebration of the grime, graft and glamour of showbiz. Lyrics by Steven Sondheim, music by Julie Stein
  • Lot 6 – Ninety-minute nutrition consultation and sixty-minute follow up with qualified nutritionist, Karen Levine. Holistic assessment of current health needs with personalised program of diet and supplementation
  • Lot 7 – Acharashraddha, Women’s Mitra Convenor, will take up to three people out for cream tea and conversation. Date to be mutually arranged
  • Lot 8Shiatsu Session with Karey Taylor from Bodywise. Karey practises a form of Japanese Shiatsu. With the use of light but profound touch, a typical session helps clients release physical tension and process mental and emotional issue
  • Lot 9Veggie brunch and Dharma study for up to three people with Arthavadin, at his home in Chorlton
  • Lot 10 – One hour Tui Na Chinese massage therapy session with Di Fan at this studio in Prestwich. Working with energy flow to address disharmony in bodily systems. Addresses a wide range of physical and emotional problems
Gardening
  • Lot 11 – Yin Yang Yoga and sound healing workshop with Lynne-Marie and Joanne Adams. A highlight of last year’s auction! This two and a half hour workshop offers a wonderful opportunity for total relaxation and self-care, in the heart of winter. Yin Yang Yoga uses cushions, bolsters and blankets to facilitate the deep practice of letting go. Tibetan singing bowls offer deeply relaxing and beautiful sounds. Sunday 1st March, 10.30am to 12.30pm
  • Lot 12Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment with Taravandana. Understand yourself better through knowing about your psychological preferences. The MBTI tool helps us have more clarity on how we process information, make decisions and structure our lives, and to respond with greater kindness to those different from us
  • Lot 13 – Ninety-minute introduction to flamenco dance with Robin Ellis, including: basic technique, clapping patterns, footwork and body movements, plus short history of the dance with an emphasis on having fun and experiencing the flamenco buzz! For three people
  • Lot 14Mindful performance lesson / small workshop for up to three people with Sangha member, actor, director and coach, Dan Bradford. Daniel is a successful director and acting coach working with mindfulness and performance psychology, helping people break through personal barriers and blocks. Would you like to improve your public speaking, be more effective at meetings, or just wish to express yourself in a different way? Then Dan’s your man!
  • Lot 15 – Thirty-minute personalised meditation review via Skype with internationally renowned teacher and Triratna Order Member, Vidyamala
  • Lot 16 – Bespoke wooden meditation stool designed and made to order by our bookshop manager and master woodworker Kevin Statham
  • Lot 17Alexander Technique workshop with qualified teacher Mokshajoyti. Giving practical techniques and lessons to help improve posture, release tension, whilst encouraging our body to let go of bad habits and old patterns. Saturday 1st February, 2 – 3 .30 pm
  • Lot 18 – Personalised calligraphy by Di Fan
  • Lot 19 – Beauty of Nature art workshop with artist Sue Aggarwal. at her mill studio in beautiful grounds on the edge of the Huddersfield canal. Using a variety of media – printing, acrylic painting, collage, charcoal and pastel – Sue will demonstrate and support participants to express their creativity. The workshop will be informal with discussion and sharing of pieces, and all materials are provided. Date to be mutually arranged.  For up to twelve people
  • Lot 20 – Personalised meditation review with our new Chair, Silabodhi
  • Lot 21 – Personalised meditation review with internationally renowned teacher and meditation practitioner Tejananda, Chair of Vajraloka Retreat Centre
  • Lot 22 – One to one yoga lesson with Manjunaga. An opportunity to develop a program tailored to your current needs with Bodywise’s much loved teacher
  • Lot 23 – Two hours of cleaning and sorting – kitchen cupboards, secret junk room, kids’ play room need a bit of magic? Let Sangha member Claire Ferguson put her joy of cleaning and organising to good use
  • Lot 24 – Personalised meditation review via Skype or phone with with Paramananda
