Committing to Spiritual Friendship

Woman in garden with flowers

Lisa and Karen’s Kalyana Mitra Ceremonies

In a simple yet beautiful ritual last month, Lisa and her two formal Kalyana Mitras, or spiritual friends, Satyamuni and Sarasuvanna, undertook to maintain and deepen their friendships for life. Spiritual friendship is valued highly in Buddhism and the ceremony was an affirmation that these two good friends are a vital part of Lisa’s spiritual life and path.

Soon after,  Karen made the same commitment at a ceremony with Dayanandi and, again, Sarasuvanna. Lisa’s ceremony took place out of doors in line with Covid guidance, in the garden of our Women’s Community in Salford. Guidance changed shortly after.

May they support and inspire each other along the Way to grow and develop in compassion and wisdom. May all blessings be theirs!
