Buddha Day Festival, Online
Sun 23rd May : 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
Our Buddha Day Festival celebrates the Buddha’s Enlightenment and gives thanks for the extraordinary example of his life and teaching.
Celebrated around the world on the full moon (Wesak), our Buddha Day Festival this year will begin with a highly significant event – the Public Ordination of Barrie Stanhope, broadcast live from our beautiful Lotus Hall shrine room.
During this ceremony, Barrie will commit the rest of his life to the Buddhist Path and the Triratna Buddhist Order. These ceremonies are always very moving and beautiful, so do tune in!
What the Buddha means to me
In the afternoon, we will focus on our own heartfelt relationship with the Buddha and his many qualities. Come join us to listen to members of our community talk about What the Buddha means to me, for devotion and ritual, and to be inspired on this Buddhist path that we share and journey alongside each other on.
Who is the event for?Suitable for anyone who has experience of our two meditation practices, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana, and is open to Buddhist ritual.
