Who is the evening for?
It’s suitable for anyone familiar with the two meditation practices we teach here – Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana – and with at least six months regular meditation practice.
Clarifying Feeling Tone
Vedana – sometimes translated as hedonic tone, or feeling tone – is one of the five skandhas or aspects of what make up our conscious experience. Crucially it is the basis of our experience of pleasure and pain, which also becomes the basis for our reactivity. Vedana is always present in one form or another. Can we clarify its nature, and through knowing it more deeply free ourselves from its mostly unconscious effects on us?
