Meditation Night Online with Garavachitta

Broadening and Deepening our PracticeThese evenings are an opportunity to come together and practise, with a focus on deepening meditation. Each week, as a community, we explore different aspects and approaches to our meditation practice. The structure varies but you can expect periods of meditation with short talks and discussion - sometimes in small groups - and a ten-minute break around the mid-point.
Garavachitta leads tonight’s session, asking what the problem is with sense experience.
Who is the evening for?
It’s suitable for anyone familiar with the two meditation practices we teach here – Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana.
What’s the Problem with Sense Experience?
Our senses, including the mind sense, are all we ever know. The Buddha describes them as The All. Because they are all we know, we seek happiness in them by attaching to them and trying to manipulate them, yet we may also start to realise this doesn’t work. This evening we will look more directly and closely at the nature of sense experience, to try and discover how we can relate to it with more freedom.
