Celebrating International Women’s Day 2019

Sat 9th Mar : 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Padmapani: Female Bodhisattva Figure

Women in Buddhism

Women have followed the Buddha’s teaching from the earliest days and Buddhism teaches that both men and women have equal potential for spiritual development. The image shown is Padmapani, a Bodhisattva who embodies compassion for all beings and is often depicted in female form.

Today, Triratna Order Member Danasamudra will share stories of the impact of Buddhism on women’s lives from the time of the Buddha to the present day. We’ll also hear two personal stories from women whose lives have been transformed by Buddhism. Everyone is welcome at this International Women’s Day event in our beautiful Centre. No charge and no need to book, just turn up on the day.
