Mitra means friend. In a warm and joyful afternoon event we witness and celebrate our friends Harpreet, Ember, Lorna, Lizzy, Nic and Gitu as they make a provisional commitment to deepening their Buddhist practice within the Triratna Buddhist Community. We’ll rejoice in their many qualities and they will make symbolic offerings in a simple ceremony. It’s a great opportunity to get to know people in our community a bit more – if Buddhist ritual is unfamiliar, it’s fine to just watch.
If you can’t make it to the Centre, this event will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel
Who is the Event for?
It's suitable for anyone with experience of our two meditation practices, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana, and open to Buddhist ritual. Please get in touch if you're not sure. Close friends and family of the new Mitras are also warmly invited.
