New Year’s Ritual
Tue 31st Dec : 7:30 pm
A Light for the World
As the year turns, Vishangka invites the Sangha to gather for meditation, ritual and spiritual friendship, spacious and free of alcohol. We can also stay on for Morning Verses and meditation on 1st January. No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before we start.
Who is the event for? It’s for Order members, Mitras and Centre regulars who have completed a Buddhism Going Deeper course. Please get in touch if you’re not sure.
I’d like to spend New Year’s Eve this year contemplating the Buddha and hearing his wisdom. I find the world an increasingly troubling place. Division, hatred and violence seem to rip our sense of humanity and community apart. For me, it is only the wisdom of the Buddha that can offer the light we need to find our way through.
I’d like to create a ritual and sacred space in the Lotus Hall to strengthen an intention and the resources needed to enter the new year. Please join me to help create this space. We’ll hear the word of the Buddha with readings from the Dhammapada, perform ritual and puja to invoke his presence, meditate and chant mantras together.
