North West Sanghas Retreat

Our Big Annual Retreat
Our Centre invites Sanghas across the whole North West to come together for our community’s annual retreat at Adhisthana in its stunning setting of 25 acres of grounds and gardens in the Hereford countryside. Hosted by the wonderful community who live there, this is a rare opportunity for us to gather together for a long weekend to meditate, do ritual and simply spend time together.
We propose to use the retreat to have a 360 degree look at meditation, working alongside some of the experienced meditation teachers in the Adhisthana teaching community.
Who is the Retreat for?
The retreat is suitable if you’ve completed an Intro to Buddhism course, or have been coming to your group or Centre for at least six months. If you’re unsure, have a word with one of the leaders of your group or Centre.
Health Issues
If there are any health issues, physical, emotional or mental, that could affect your participation in a course or event, please contact the Buddhist Centre at info@manchesterbuddhistcentre.org.uk, and ask to talk confidentially to one of our Order members, before deciding whether to attend.More Information

Joining in at Adhisthana
While at Adhisthana, we participate in communal life. This includes meditating with everyone who is also there in the main shrine room in the morning, taking part in daily tasks and at the end of the retreat helping to prepare Adhisthana for the next group. Our retreat will finish after this clear-up, so please book your return train for after 1 pm.
Not been on Retreat before?
Well, here’s a great place to start, in the friendly company of some faces you may already know or have seen online, all of us coming together to create a sense of community and belonging as we share our journey together. A Manchester Buddhist Centre retreat can help you develop friendship, deepen meditation and discover new inspirations for your practice.
