Mindfulness and Kindness Lunchtime Meditation Class

Tue 20th Oct : 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm

Virtual Event
£3 – £5
Lotus Hall Shrine

Ordinary life can be hard, but things are particularly difficult right now for many of us. How can Buddhist meditation help? Meditation can help us develop mindfulness, kindness, clarity, positivity, and can enable us to gain a bigger perspective on life. Through regular practice and over time, we can learn our mind’s habits, and cultivate new, more positive ways of being in the world. Come and find out how!
Our weekday lunchtime meditation sessions are guided and are suitable for anyone.

First-time meditators are particularly welcome but old hands very welcome too! Go to our meditation page if you’d like to find out more before you visit. Even in an online group, meditating together can help us feel connected with others, whatever our situation, there’s usually a bit of time at the end to ask questions or talk about how it went. These sessions usually go ahead on bank holidays.

Hybrid Event

There will be an option to attend this event in person (max 15 people) or online via Zoom, if you’d prefer. We hope you understand that we need to operate a booking system for the time being, to maintain physical distancing. So do book a ticket below if you'd like to attend the class in person. Please note: bookings will close 2 hours before the start of the event. No need to book if you'd like to access the class via Zoom.

If you are attending the Centre for a class, please turn up 20 minutes before the beginning of the class and remember to wear a face mask. Please read our advice on visiting the Centre in person.

There is no charge to attend online; the price to attend in person is £5 standard rate / £3 concessionary. Payment still a problem? As a small unfunded charity, the Centre relies on the generosity of people who come here, but we don't want to turn anyone away from our courses. Please contact the Centre Team on info@manchesterbuddhistcentre.org.uk and we'll work something out with you.

Join this event through the Zoom App

While the Centre is mostly closed by the coronavirus pandemic, we're running many events online through Zoom.
New to Zoom?
• Our online classes and other events are friendly and participative, with opportunities to ask questions and share your own experience. Do turn your camera and microphone on if you can!
• If a session doesn't start on time, please give it a few minutes, there's probably a sudden problem at our end.

Supporting the Centre

We want to offer as much as we can freely online for as long as can. These are very difficult times for us though, and being mostly closed means we have lost much of our income: we need your help! So if you value our Centre and community, please think about making a regular or one-off donation here.

The numbers below include tickets for this event already in your cart. Clicking "Get Tickets" will allow you to edit any existing attendee information as well as change ticket quantities.
