Ordinary life can be hard, but things are particularly difficult right now for many of us. How can Buddhist meditation help? Meditation can help us develop mindfulness, kindness, clarity, positivity, and can enable us to gain a bigger perspective on life. Through regular practice and over time, we can learn our mind’s habits, and cultivate new, more positive ways of being in the world. Come and find out how!

Our weekday lunchtime meditation sessions are guided and are suitable for anyone. No need to book. They now run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

First-time meditators are particularly welcome but old hands very welcome too! Go to our meditation page if you’d like to find out more before you visit. Even in an online group, meditating together can help us feel connected with others, whatever our situation, there’s usually a bit of time at the end to ask questions or talk about how it went.

Getting the most out of Zoom
• Our online events are friendly and participative, often with opportunities to ask questions and share your own experience. Do turn your camera and microphone on if you can!
• If a session doesn't start on time, please give it a few minutes, there may be a sudden problem at our end

• If you'd like an unguided morning sit, The Buddhist Centre Online offers online open meditation, 7.30 - 8.15 am, Monday to Friday.

Supporting the Centre

We want to offer as much as we can freely online for as long as can. These are very difficult times for us though, and being mostly closed means we have lost much of our income but not much of our costs: we need your help! So if you value our Centre and community, please make a regular or one-off donation here. The usual rates for these classes are £5 standard rate or £3 concessionary rate.
