Poetry Discussion: Ezra Pound

Sat 10th Nov : 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Ezra Pound Grave

The Centre’s small and friendly poetry group, led by Edmund Prestwich — all welcome. A free event, no need to book. This month we’re looking at some of Ezra Pound’s shorter poems.

We usually bring copies of the poems to be discussed, and try to read them in advance. Edmund’s website has full information on the poems to be discussed each time, and also where to find them. We’ll be looking at:

• The Return
• The Garden
• In a Station of the Metro
• Liu Ch’e
• Fan-Piece for her Imperial Lord
• The Gipsy
• The River-Merchant’s Wife: a Letter
• Exile’s Letter

Monthly Poetry Discussion

We usually, but not always, get together on the second Saturday of the month to discuss a poet and their work, usually, but not always, a modern one. We sometimes take a break in the summer and at other holiday times. Keep an eye on What’s On for details. It's always safest to check the website before setting off in case the details have changed

Creative Writing at the Buddhist Centre

Various writing groups come and go at the Centre, organised by their own members - keep an eye on the notice board on the ground floor. There are occasional one-off creative writing events here too - check What's On.
