Sangha Day Festival of Light – From Local to Global
Sat 28th Nov : 7:30 am - 10:00 pm
Join us as we come together to mark and celebrate the Sangha jewel in our lives. This has been an incredible year – a journey for many of us of both the joy and sorrow of what it means to be truly human in our time. The Sangha – or a community of friends working towards liberation – may for some of us, have shone brightly throughout the year with friendship, connection and understanding.
With Local Friends and Across the World
We’re gathering on the Friday evening and Saturday rather than Sunday this year to celebrate our Sangha jewel. Along with the Buddha and the Dharma, this is one of the three jewels we hold dear in our Buddhist practice. There will be opportunities to join the International Triratna Sangha for Sangha Day talks and practice, and also to connect locally with Manchester Buddhist Centre to mark one of the key Buddhist festivals in the year.
Who is the event for?Suitable for anyone who has experience of our two meditation practices, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana, and is open to Buddhist ritual. No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before we start.
