Online Sangha Evening: The Family of Protectors
Fri 2nd Oct : 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm
Centre regulars get together for talks, discussion and friendship at our fortnightly Sangha evening. No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before we start. Each Sangha evening varies, but there will usually be short talks and discussion, often in small groups, with a short break around the mid-point and a closing ritual.
Exploring the Family of Protectors with Parami
Parami joins us this evening, for the first in a series of three evenings exploring the family of Protectors. She begins with the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the first of the three Protectors. Avalokitesvara is the embodiment of Compassion and a symbol of the Triratna Buddhist Order. In two weeks time, Parami will talk about Manjusri, embodiment of Wisdom and in a month’s time Vajrapani, embodiment of Energy. Ordained in 1980, Parami is one of Triratna’s most senior and experienced Order members.
Who is the event for?Suitable for anyone who has experience of our two meditation practices, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana, and is open to Buddhist ritual.
