Join us for an evening of music and culture as our friends Olivia Moore and Kirsty Almeida perform in our shrine room. It’s not very often that we have cultural events and places are limited, so don’t miss out!
Sound of Our Soul
Kirsty Almeida is a singer and leading light on the Manchester Music Scene. Her album Pure Blue Green was signed by Decca Records in 2010. She has toured internationally with her critically acclaimed hits and many have been featured on TV and in the cinema. In 2015 she set up the Wonder Inn Cafe and Community Centre in Manchester which hosted an array of events and musical acts. She is currently a professor in Music Business at Leeds Conservatoire. Olivia Moore is a violinist working within the fields of Jazz and World Music. She has a particular interest in Indian Music. She composes for and leads her own band, Unfurl, which has performed at all the main UK jazz festivals. Within Jazz and World Music, she has worked nationally and internationally in a huge variety of projects with distinguished figures in some iconic venues and festivals. Olivia is a long-term member of our Sangha and currently lives in the women’s residential community in Salford. You can find her music on YouTube and Spotify – here’s a lovely track called Suryaka!
