Living the Suttas – Exploring Ancient Buddhist Texts
Sun 1st May : 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Dharmakarunya leads a new monthly discussion group for Mitras and Order Members who want to understand more deeply the teachings of the suttas, and put them into practice in your lives.
Living the Suttas
The suttas of the Pali Canon provide our most direct link to the Buddha; his enlightened mind speaking straight to our minds. The suttas are of immense value to our practice, yet we may find their form and language unfamiliar in the twenty-first century world. Approaching the suttas together can help us understand their meaning and apply the teachings in our practice. Come and (re-) discover the suttas together in a friendly, informal and practical way.
Please read the sutta in advance and bring a print or virtual copy with you. This preparation will enable us to go more deeply into the words of the Buddha. Suttas may usually be Downloaded from Access to Insight. For this meeting, we will discuss the Karaniya Metta Sutta (Sutta Nipata 1:8)
We look forward to seeing you and sharing the wisdom and beauty of the suttas together!
