Tools for Living your Life: Creating Community
Sat 27th Nov : 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
A friendly and practical weekly introduction to Buddhism and meditation, with the option of joining us online or attending in-person at the Centre. We cover a different topic each time, usually in series lasting a few weeks each. Continuing the theme of The Buddha’s Teaching on Creating Community, with a focus on kindly speech.
(We were going to stay on after today’s session to take down the decorations that some of us put up for last week’s Sangha Day Festival. They look so lovely though that we’re keeping them up a bit longer! Thanks to everyone who helped.)
Everyone welcome, any SaturdayWhether you are completely new to Buddhism and meditation or want to revisit the core teachings in a friendly group, join us for a warm welcome on a Saturday morning. Come once or as often as you like, no need to be here at the beginning of a series. Suryaka, Shakyajata, Suryasraddha and / or Mahabodhi usually lead the sessions with a team of friends from the Centre.
The Buddha’s Teaching on Creating Community
This four-week course explores why the Buddha suggests that generosity, kindly speech, exemplification and meaningful activity are what bring into being a real and lasting experience of community. A community that leads to transformation – of ourselves and the world around us.
