Tools for Living: Why I am a Buddhist

Sat 25th Jul : 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

I believe that humanity is basically one. I believe that it is possible for any human being to communicate with any other human being, to feel for another human being, to be friends with any other human being. Sangharakshita

Why I am a Buddhist is part of our long-running Tools for Living your Life – a weekly introduction to Buddhism and meditation, currently online. This week we’ll hear what inspires people to follow Buddhist teachings. There’ll be short talks, discussion, a question and answer session and meditation.

Everyone welcome, any Saturday

Tools for Living is suitable for anyone and everyone! Whether you are completely new to Buddhism and meditation or want to revisit these core teachings in a friendly group, join us for a warm welcome on a Saturday morning. Come for one Saturday or as many as you like. Sessions are usually led by Suryaka, Shakyajata and friends and will continue online through the summer and autumn, but there’s no session on 15th August – sorry.

• Our online classes and other events are friendly and participative, with opportunities to ask questions and share your own experience. Do turn your camera and microphone on if you can!
• If a session doesn't start on time, please give it a few minutes, there's probably a sudden problem at our end

Supporting the Centre

We want to offer as much as we can freely online for as long as can. These are very difficult times for us though, and being closed means we have lost much of our income but not much of our costs: we need your help! So if you value our Centre and community, please make a regular or one-off donation here. The usual rates for these classes are £6 standard rate or £4 concessionary rate
