Tools for Living your Life: The Journey and the Guide
Sat 12th Feb : 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, repeating until Sat 26th Feb, 2022
A friendly and practical weekly introduction to Buddhism and meditation, with the option of joining us online or attending in-person at the Centre. We cover a different topic each time, usually in series lasting a few weeks each, and each session includes a period of led meditation.
Everyone welcome, any SaturdayWhether you are completely new to Buddhism and meditation or want to revisit the core teachings in a friendly group, join us for a warm welcome on a Saturday morning. Come once or as often as you like and there's no need to be here at the beginning of a series, each session stands alone and we always start with a recap. Suryaka, Shakyajata, Suryasraddha and/or Mahabodhi usually lead the sessions with a team of friends from the Centre.
The Journey and the Guide
The current series is based on Maitreyabandhu’s The Journey and the Guide. We think it’s a great book, but there is no requirement to have a copy or to read it.
How do we make the most of life? We all want to live a valuable and fulfilling life. We want our lives to be filled with meaning, connection and creativity. The Buddha discovered the key to this, and then communicated it to others. During the eight weeks that we’ll be exploring this theme, you’ll be guided by the Buddha’s vision in an exploration of the fundamental issues of life, facing up to them, finding a way of overcoming them, and uncovering your human potential.
To help build a connection and to support each other in exploring this material, there’s an optional WhatsApp group to join.
