Young Buddhists Group: Taste the Fruits of Friendship
Mon 1st Nov : 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
A Friendly Informal Group for Young Adults over Eighteen
Led by young people for young people, we are supporting one another to deepen our experience of the Dharma, through friendship, events and study.
Tasting the Fruits of Friendship
In this month’s session, Tom will be interviewing his good friend Vishangka about the role that friendship has played in his spiritual life. Vishangka has been practising Buddhism for more than twenty years and is a wonderful friend to many people in our community.
They’ll be exploring how friendship in this context is more than just being friendly to one another. It’s really a powerful and sometimes challenging practice that encourages us to grow, love more deeply and allow ourselves to be loved. It’s a concrete way of going beyond oneself and creating community in the process.
Who is the Young Buddhists Group for?
Anyone aged 18 – 30 who is interested in exploring and practising Buddhism with other younger people. We meet on the first and third Monday evening of the month. Interested? Just come along to one of our meetings or get in touch with us through the Centre. We also have a Manchester Young Buddhists Group on Facebook.
There’s no need to book. We gather together in the Buddhist Centre lounge about 15 minutes before the start of the session and sometimes hang out together afterwards. It’ll be great to have you with us!
