Young Buddhists Group Online: Commitment to a Greater Purpose
Mon 7th Dec : 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
A Friendly Informal Group for Young Adults over Eighteen
Led by young people for young people, we are supporting one another to deepen our experience of the Dharma, through friendship, events and study.
Who is the Young Buddhists Group for?
Anyone aged 18 – 35 who is interested in exploring and practising Buddhism with other younger people. We meet on the first and third Monday evening of the month. Interested? Just come along to one of our meetings or get in touch with us through the Centre. We also have a Manchester Young Buddhists Group on Facebook.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose: Why Ordination?
For this session, we will be joined by Helen. Helen has recently been invited to an ordination retreat next year where she will be ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order.
At tonight’s session, she will share something of her personal journey towards ordination, why she’s taking this step and why we have an order anyway. We’ll start by meditating together, hearing from Helen and moving out into discussion groups with a few questions that Helen will leave us with.
Join this event through the Zoom AppDuring the pandemic, we're running many events online through Zoom. • New to Zoom? • Our online classes and other events are friendly and participative, with opportunities to ask questions and share your own experience. Do turn your camera and microphone on if you can! • If a session doesn't start on time, please give it a few minutes, there's probably a sudden problem at our end.
