Made with Love

If you’ve ever visited our Centre, you’ve probably seen Di’s beautiful calligraphy, Kevin’s handmade furniture and Mokshavadini’s malas or prayer beads. Their skilful work reflects their Buddhist practice, both in the making and in the finished result. At our fundraising skills auction on 17th November, there’s a chance to bid for something they will make just for you or for a loved one.

They will be giving their time freely and all proceeds go to keeping the Centre and its activities alive. These are just three of the twenty or so lovely offers from our talented community.

Personalised Calligraphy

Di Fan’s rendering of the Heart Sutra in classical Chinese can be seen on the Centre’s ground floor, and this lovely video shows him in action!

Bespoke Wooden Meditation Stool

Our bookshop manager, meditation teacher and master woodworker Kevin Statham is offering to design and make a stool to your requirements.

Bespoke Mala

Traditionally made with 108 beads, we can use Buddhist malas to repeat mantras, mark the breaths in meditation, or simply as a visual reminder of our practice. Most of our malas are made here in Manchester by Moksavadini from Buddhist Goodies, and she will create one to your individual design, up to a value of £40

Do come along on the 17th at 6pm. Everyone’s welcome – it’s a lot of fun and a great way to get to know people here. If you can’t make it, you can mail your bid in advance to Sal at
