Winter Holiday Online Retreats

Buddha with Candles

Are you wondering what to do during the winter holidays?

This can be a difficult time of year for many people. This year may be even harder due to the isolation and restriction caused by the pandemic.

However, the slower pace and added spaciousness present an opportunity to turn towards more meaningful things. Many of us have been doing this throughout the year by attending events at the Manchester Buddhist Centre. During this period however, most events at the Centre are taking a break. Despite this, there are still many ways to turn towards meaning.

An excellent way of doing this is going on retreat. As well as a strong connection with others, a retreat can bring much-needed clarity, inspiration and rest.

Here is a selection of online retreats taking place during this period.

Open to all levels of experience:

The Heart’s Release
27th Dec – 1st Jan
A retreat for everybody organised by the London Buddhist Centre

Renew and Connect
23rd – 26th Dec
A retreat for women organised by Taraloka Retreat Centre

For those with more experience:

The Calling
18th – 20th Dec
A retreat for anybody who regularly attends Triratna retreats led by Singhasri and Balajit

Dark of the Year, Return of the Light

A retreat for men with retreat experience and a regular meditation practice organised by Dhanakosa Retreat Centre

Myths and Symbols of the White Lotus Sutra

Love without Limits

A retreat for Order Members and anybody with at least 3 years meditation experience led by Vessantara and Advayasiddhi

Uncontrived Mindfulness: a beautiful mind

We hope that attending these retreats brings you much joy and meaning at a time when these things seem so scarce. If you are unable to attend a retreat, we still have a few events running during this time.
